I am really proud of these, so I am cross-posting them everywhere.



Sterling silver and fine silver.

I made every bit of these by hand. I:

-cut the circles
-textured the circles
-made the rings
-soldered the rings in to itty bitty chains
-cut the bars
-soldered the bars to the chain, and chain to the circles
-polished everything all shiny.

Yeah, I'm proud.

Caleb said he's wearing them to work tomorrow.

I may post them on Etsy at some point, but I'm not sure what I would charge... it's too soon, I'm too into them at the moment.

Do you other artists get too into your art sometimes? Curious...

My jewelry will be carried in a store soon! (That's the exciting bit).

What do I send over for them to carry? (That's the scary bit).

I want to send over a range of prices, as well as materials, but they want to do a trial-run, and carry only a few things to start. (4-6 necklaces, 4-6 bracelets, 6 pairs earrings, a few rings). I think its low on the earrings, so I'd like to hear some opinions.

Now, don't get me wrong, its a real brick and mortar shop, but... its a hospital gift shop. I'm just as excited about it as I would be if MoMA's gift shop wanted to carry my jewelry, but I'm just as confused about what I should send for inventory.

What would you expect to see, and more importantly, what sort of displays appeal to you? I don't want to go with the velveteen busts and t-bars, but I don't have any better ideas.

Being part of the marketplace was a blast. I loved the atmosphere we created this year.

Group 1 had about 250-500 people in it (I'm bad at estimates) and I know they counted 1800 in the last group. SO hoarse after wards. And sore.

My booth was awesome sauce. I brought some files, and my tiny hammer*, and every time I started banging on something, the entire crowd would stop to stare at me, and at least 5 people would take pictures.

I have new respect for goldfish.

I could have give away 250 business cards, easily. Too bad I don't even have any designed, yet! *sigh*. Cobbler's kids never have shoes, and graphic designer's wives' never have marketing materials.

If I had been willing to sell, I could have sold everything I brought with me, and left with orders to fill.

I had people come back to my "shop" after they finished the pageant and ask me 2 and 3 times if they could buy something.

Oh well, I'll know better next year.
